“Statement by the Commission for Prisoner Affairs Concerning the Passing Away of the Inmate in Saripul Prison”

l_DzlA8Q

It is with great sadness to have learnt that an ill inmate has passed away inside Saripul central prison due to his ailment.

An inmate – Abdul Basir s/o Faizullah from Saripul province – serving his time in Saripul central prison passed away due to an illness yesterday.

Lack of medical facilities inside the Kabul regime prisons and barring patients from seeking treatment outside hospitals are reasons that unwell inmates develop serious illnesses and reach such a fate.

The Kabul administration is continuing to treat bound prisoners in such inhumane and barbaric fashion while the supposed human right institutions are watching as spectators and are not even taking any practical steps or showing any reaction through the media.

The media is similarly not giving proper coverage to the maltreatment of prisoners, rather they are trying to whitewash Kabul regime’s crimes.

Such human tragedy has been taking place inside the prisons of the Kabul administration for a long time now. A number of inmates have lost their lives during the current year due to lack of medical treatment, regarding which we have published statements.

We once again call on all international human right organizations to put pressure on the Kabul regime to put an end to the maltreatment, to respect the rights of prisoners and provide medical treatment to ill inmates.

Wasalam
